Our u3a is open to people from Bearsden, Milngavie and the surrounding area and provides access to interest groups, monthly meetings and other events. There is no age limit, but activities are aimed at people no longer in full-time work who want to get involved in learning and creative activities, making new friends and continuing to live an active life.

A reminder of what we offer
- Attendance at Monthly Meetings, open to all members on the third Tuesday of every month at 11 am in St Andrew's Hall, Bearsden. We also run other events, ranging from First Aid to Wine Tasting.
- Participation in over 50 interest groups. Some groups have small costs to cover room hire and/or tea and coffee.
- A monthly Newsletter.
- Membership of the Third Age Trust, our UK-wide parent organisation. This provides insurance cover, online advice and a national newsletter, including five u3a Matters magazines a year posted to your address. They also run online learning events, where you can sign up for a monthly listing, produce a monthly podcast, publish a monthly Friends newsletter and provide access to a range of offers and discounts through u3a Friends Extra.
- Membership of u3a in Scotland. They run several activities themselves, notably Online across Scotland. A face-to-face Summer School is usually held every two years and the next will be in Stirling from 24–26 August 2026.

You are welcome to come along to two monthly meetings or attend a group meeting before deciding whether you want to join u3a (but check with the group convenor that places are available – see the group’s web page).
If a group you are interested in has a waiting list, you need to be a member of the u3a to add your name to it.
