Bearsden & Milngavie

Extra Event - Adam Davey

Event type: Other
Date: 3rd February 2026
Venue: St Andrew's RC Church Bearsden, Upper Hall

Adam is an independent Financial Advisor and giving a talk entitled "Are you Worried about your Wealth".

Adam says “Benjamin Franklin once wrote that the only two certainties in life are death and taxes. Not a very cheery subject for a talk, is it?

Unfortunately, most individuals during their lifetime don’t like to think about either subject and especially do not like to talk about it with their loved ones. And this apprehension can often lead to money being given unnecessarily to the HMRC.

However, in this light hearted presentation, I will attempt the impossible – making the discussion around death, tax and pensions enjoyable and easy to understand! “

Adam will explain how inheritance tax works, how you can reduce the tax bill your beneficiaries may face, and most importantly of all, how to make the most of your wealth in retirement. In other words, how to enjoy the money you have worked to save your whole life!

As a background to our Speaker, Adam moved up to Glasgow/ Lenzie in the late 90s, having grown up in South Wales. Before moving to Scotland, he went to Staffordshire University, studying Business Studies and then joined the QE2 cruise ship for two years, completing 2 world cruises in that time.

Since moving to Lenzie, where he currently lives with his wife and two children (although they are now away to university), he has been working with many of the large financial services organisations in Scotland, often presenting to large audiences on complex subjects. With an ability to break down complicated topics into an easy to understand narrative, he has adapted these skills with his own clients  and am now an independent financial advisor with Rite Wealth.

His day to day role as an IFA sees him helping all types of individuals and businesses, whether its trying to help people maintain their lifestyles in retirement or looking at how to help individuals reduce any tax liabilities that they may have. Working with different generations within each family is one of the best ways to deal with tough financial decisions during emotional times.

Adam will be happy to answer any of your questions around your finances but won’t be able to give individual advice on the day.

If you would like to discuss anything specific prior to the talk, you can contact Adam on 0141 732 8115.
